PyCon JP 2026 Travel Grant Selection Results

We are pleased to announce the selection results for the PyCon JP 2026 Travel Grant program.

At the beginning of the application period, we planned to provide support to 30 domestic participants and 10 international participants.

However, our keynote speaker, Carol Willing, generously offered to decline the travel support allocated to her and asked that the funds instead be used to support PyCon JP participants.

Thanks to her kindness, we were able to expand the program and ultimately select the following number of recipients:

• Domestic participants: 40
• International participants: 11

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Carol for her generous support.

Selection Process

Based on the information provided in the applications, we made our selections by considering the following factors:

• Participants traveling from locations far from Hiroshima, the host city
• Young participants attending with a U25 or Student ticket
• First-time PyCon JP attendees
• Talk session speakers

Those who have contributed to open-source projects or the Python community
