I'm Takuya Nishimoto (nishimotz).
Based in Hiroshima, I have contributed to the Python community through various activities, including Japanese language support for NVDA (a screen reader developed in Python) and organizing PyCon mini Hiroshima. I have also been part of the organizing teams for RubyKaigi 2017 and YAPC::Hiroshima 2024.
The next PyCon JP, an international conference dedicated to the Python programming language, will be held in Hiroshima on September 26-27, 2025.
As the Chair of PyCon JP 2025, I am looking for organizing members to join us in taking this significant step forward. You can apply using the form below.
Applications for organizing team members are currently limited to those residing in Japan.

At PyCon JP, we refer to our organizing group members (staff) as "organizing members." This reflects our desire to go beyond formal roles and emphasize the collaborative spirit of creating the event together.
To Those in Hiroshima and Surrounding Areas
PyCon JP 2025 aims to leverage Hiroshima as a new stage to strengthen connections with local communities and reach new audiences. We want to share the excitement of Python with diverse groups, including students and engineers from nearby areas, as well as visitors combining the conference with tourism.
We especially encourage applications from those living in Hiroshima and surrounding areas.
Many major IT conferences have traditionally been held in Tokyo, which may have deterred some from participating or made involvement seem daunting.
We would love for you to experience being part of a locally-rooted organizing team, bringing your unique local perspective and networks to the conference.
Our preparation work will take various forms, including online and asynchronous collaboration, as well as hybrid and in-person activities based in both Tokyo and Hiroshima. Being an organizing member offers behind-the-scenes experience and a sense of achievement that goes beyond regular conference attendance.
Building PyCon JP 2025 Together
To help organizing members understand both specific tasks and my approach to leadership, I have started a Chair's Daily Log. The posts are written in Japanese with English summaries.
We will work together to ensure balanced workloads and mutual support. While each member takes initiative and embraces challenges, we'll maintain operational reliability and work towards the event's success.
If you're wondering "Can I do this?" – please don't hesitate to apply. We value everyone's enthusiasm and create an environment where we can grow together.
While preserving the community spirit and networking opportunities that PyCon JP has cultivated, we're also eager to embrace new ideas and challenges. Your experience and perspective will surely enrich the event.
I look forward to creating PyCon JP 2025 together with all of you.
Thank you for your interest.
About the Chair's Role
The PyCon JP Chair is appointed by PyCon JP Association (General Incorporated Association) and works with organizing members to run the event. However, the Chair's decision-making process is independent from PyCon JP Association. For more details, please visit:
